Kalamazoo Man Arrested For Armed Robbery

Kalamazoo, MI: On Saturday, January 5, 2008, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Kalamazoo Public Safety officers responded to a reported armed robbery in the 200 block of N. Edwards. Officers made contact with two victims who reported being accosted by lone white male armed with a knife.

The victims were walking on the sidewalk when the suspect approached them from behind, brandished a knife and threatened them. The suspect took property from both victims and then ran westbound from the scene. A police canine team began tracking the suspect. During the canine track, other officers who were in the area observed the
suspect walking in the 400 block of N. Church St.

The suspect fled from officers, however, he was apprehended as he attempted to enter his residence. The suspect, a 29-year-old Kalamazoo man, resisted arrest but he was taken into custody for Armed Robbery and Resisting & Obstructing. He was lodged in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
